Dreams of a bright future........
It is the story of how i went through different phases in my academic and personal life till i ended up here in england.........
It all started in my intermediate (12'th class) when i hit upon the idea of going abroad. Till then i havent got much knowledge on undergraduate degrees or masters degrees except an exceptional liking towards computers. I think it was in 6'th class when i first put my hands on a computer when i went to chandigarh to visit my uncle. From that time onwards i developed an intense liking for computers and started learning programming from the next year. i always had special interest in maths and physics and i remember how i used to help every one in solving the toughest of the problems in maths in my 12'th class. so decided to join engineering and started appearing for different entrace tests. first test was IIT...i gave a very good performance in maths and but the physics and chemistry was a disaster on that day so i had to abandon the plans of iit the very day. the next option for me was either eamcet and kcet as pilani was never on the cards for me.
i thought i gave a very good eamcet test and was expecting any rank below 500. but fate had some other plans for me. The day has finally arrived for the results and i was eagerly waiting along my cousin in hyderabad. my aunt got the results paper and told me i got 3000 rank..(3000!!!!!!!!!) i felt disgust and agony as all my efforts went down the drain. i ended up selecting adams engineering college which is located in my grandparent's place and my dad thought i would be fine with them. I joined engineering and always worked towards my goal of doing my masters abroad. The story of these four years of education is a long one and deserves another separate blog entry. It is story of how i met some of the finest persons in my life, set high standards for my education and matured into a resposible individual. hopefully i will be able to write that soon.
after engineering it is my two failed attempts to get into usa and got rejected twice and i could already see the end of the road for me. to add to that my uk visa algo got rejected and i was completely shattered not knowing what to do and where to go. then suddenly things started moving in the right direction again. My university(leeds univ) people contacted the home office and persuaded them to reconsider my case and then i got a call from the home office suddenly that my visa has been granted!!!!! that changed my life entirely---i got what i always wanted.....it is not just money that i was interedted...like many of my family members i wanted higher education in a decent univ, international exposure, multi cultural environment etc and then one more blog is required about my life here in uk as an NRI :)
